THE STORY:

In 2019, I faced depression and anxiety like never before. I was resistant to acknowledging what was happening, living in a cycle of unhealthy habits — hours of video games, no discipline with my diet, no moments of intention, and spiritual numbness. This led to a strained marriage, outbursts of anger, and a vision clouded by disappointment.

A move to a new state gave the illusion of change, but deep down, I hadn’t addressed the real work that needed to happen within. By 2021, I was back in that dark space. A phrase I often repeated echoed in my mind:

“God may have made me, but He didn’t ask my permission.”

When a psychologist confirmed that I was experiencing depression, it was a wake-up call. I realized I needed to take ownership of my life — to choose who I was becoming. I created a set of “tripwires” to guide me when I started drifting off course:

✅ Go to the gym daily

✅ Limit alcohol

✅ Read the Bible and pray

✅ Clean something

✅ Spend time with people who matter most

✅ Make a list and accomplish something on it

✅ Practice something consistently

I came to understand that I had been living as a passenger in my own life, allowing circumstances, my body and mind to dictate my direction. Instead of determining the things I give permission to. I needed to embrace the process, because “results may vary, but you don’t.”

We aren’t defined by outcomes but by the process of who we are becoming. That’s where For The Glory was born — clothing that supports the journey, not just the destination. Apparel that I can work, live, and play in as I continue becoming the best version of myself. I want to live with the vision of what life will be not where it will end. That’s how we defy death.

Because even though we may die, what we build and who we become along the way lives on. That’s what we live for. For The Glory.
